Due to rising sea levels, the Seychelles is slowly sinking into the Indian Ocean.

The Seychelles are used by U.S. and Indian forces for anti-piracy operations. The U.S. also launches drone attacks on targets in Somalia from the Seychelles.

13 DEC 11- A U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone crashes in the Seychelles.

04 JAN 11- The United Arab Emirates donates 5 patrol boats to the Seychelles to aid in patrol and anti-piracy operations.

14 JUL 12- China donates two Chinese made Y-2 transport aircraft to the Seychelles. China has also expresses an interest in using military facilities in the Seychelles.

1 FEB 13- India donates a Dornier Do-228 with surveillance and communication systems to the Seychelles.
