Consists of Peninsula Malaysia and Malaysia Borneo (also known as West Malaysia and East Malaysia).
Malaysia shares borders with Thailand, Indonesia, and Brunei
The Malaysia Peninsula is connected to Singapore by two bridges. The Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link.




Malaysia does not recognize the so called state of israel.
Population of around 28 million people.
About 50% Malay, 23% Chinese, 11% indigenous, 7% Indian, and 7% other.
About 60% Muslim, 19% Buddhist, 9% Christian, 6% Hindu, and 6% other.

Malaysia is a former British colony with a trade based economy. Very important center of trade and maritime traffic.
Large tin and rubber industry

The title “Royal” was given to the Malaysian Air Force and Navy by Queen Elizabeth II after a successful counterinsurgency against communist forces in Malaysia during the time of British rule. Malaysia won independence from the U.K. In 1957.

Malaysia smuggled weapons to Bosnia during the civil war in Yugoslavia in the 1990's.
Malaysia also sent about 1,500 U.N. peacekeepers to Bosnia as well.

Spratly Islands dispute between China, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Brunei.
