Local militias made weapons and booby traps.

Laos was the most heavily bombed country in the world throughout history. During the Vietnam War era U.S. aircraft bombed targets in Laos continuously.

Brief border conflict with Thailand from December 1987 thru February 1988. Gun battle between military forces in a disputed area. Thai forces capture a town in the disputed area. Lao forces do a night attack and recapture the town. Lao forces then dig in and take up defensive positions. Cease fire was negotiated. Most of the casualties in the conflict were Thai.
