Patriot missile batteries operated by NATO forces in Turkiye.

Incirlik Airbase is a strategic base in Turkiye often used by NATO forces to launch air attacks against other nations in the Middle East. Through Incirlik airbase, Turkiye is used like an aircraft carrier by NATO. It is believed that the U.S. has around 90 B61 nuclear bombs hidden at Incirlik. The B61 bomb can be used on Turkish F-16 aircraft.

At least six NATO operated Patriot missile batteries have been recently (June 2013) deployed along the Turkish border with Syria.

2 Dutch operated Patriot missile batteries at Incirlik Air Base near Adana.

2 U.S. operated Patriot missile batteries at the Turkish military base in Gaziantep.  Gaziantep is about 60 miles north of Aleppo, Syria.

2 German operated Patriot missile batteries in the city of Kahramanmaras

The Turkish government has admittedly supported forces attacking the Syrian government and is a key conduit for transferring weapons to these terrorists.

Turkish military forces and Turkish backed Syrian rebels are currently fighting in Libya as of 2020.

Turkish military forces also took place in the NATO "No Fly Zone" and naval blockade against Libya in 2012.
Turkiye has been a major destabilizing factor in the region since 2012, only behind the US, israel and Saudi Arabia.

612,000 total military personnel (2008)
Turkiye has the second largest army in NATO, only second to the United States.

Northern Cyprus
Violence between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots from 1963-1974. The Greek government and the EOKA-B backed a coup that took democratically elected Cypriot President Archbishop Makarios III out of power. Makarios wanted to bring peace between the two communities on the island. In July of 1974 Turkiye invaded Cyprus. There are 30,000 Turkish soldiers are stationed in Northern Cyprus.
