Opium fields
Part of the “Golden Crescent” an area in Afghanistan and Pakistan in which opium grows wild.
U.S. complacent in Opium trade in Afghanistan. Canadian CBC report on how the Taliban eradicated the Opium fields aired in early 2001. After September 11, 2001 and the following U.S. invasion, the Opium fields suddenly reappear. Report on NBC news and most other mainstream U.S. news networks about how heroine was hitting the streets of the U.S. more plentiful than in years.
The Taliban are enemies of the so called "Islamic State" who frequently commit to indiscriminate bombings in Afghanistan. The so called "Islamic State" or "ISIS" seem to have all the same enemies as the US government and the so called state of israel. The "Islamic State" is at war with HAMAS and various other Palestinian groups. The "Islamic State" is at war with Kurdish groups such as the PKK and affiliates. The "Islamic State" is against Al Shabab forces in Somalia. The "Islamic State" is against the governments of Syria and Iraq. The "Islamic State" is against Hezbollah as well. The "Islamic State" is against the government of Egypt. All real groups that are aligned against NATO and a potential threat to israel, the "Islamic State" seem to have issue with. They seem to fight everyone but NATO and israel.
